MarchOnHarrisburg is one of several organizations that are a part of the Pennsylvania coalition of Rev. William Barber II’s Poor People’s Campaign. This moral movement is a revival of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Poor People’s Campaign in 1968. This Campaign is from May 13th – June 23rd and will feature six weeks of nonviolent civil disobedience in 25 State Capitals centered around four broad issues:

  1. Ending the War Economy.
  2. Ending Ecological Devastation.
  3. Ending Systemic Racism.
  4. Ending Voter Suppression.

Pennsylvania’s coalition currently includes groups like Put People First, CADBI, ACTUP, Global Women’s Strike, and New Sanctuary Movement.

Right now, we are in the infancy stage of beginning to form our coalition and working groups. We just recently had our first in person meeting. We are all actively seeking other groups and voices that should be included in the organizing of this powerful campaign.
